Get In TouChTracy’s interest in the human body and movement started at a young age through her love of dance. She danced competitively throughout her childhood and completed her professional qualifications, becoming an associate dance teacher and continuing to teach children and adults of all ages in the disciplines of ballet, tap and modern dance for many years.
During her young dance career, Tracy encountered a back injury and used the principles of Pilates to aid in her recovery. This was where her enthusiasm for rehabilitation started and when she decided a career in Physiotherapy would be the right path for her.
After graduating from the University of Nottingham as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2007, she came back to Eastbourne to start her career and explored the vast variety of specialities that Physiotherapy could offer within the NHS. Rehabilitation and neurology were areas of particular interest to her and she has now specialised as an Acute Stroke Physiotherapy Team Leader in Eastbourne DGH, where she works part time.
Alongside her varied Physiotherapy career, Tracy was keen to pursue her passion for Pilates and underwent her training with the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute), gaining her full mat-work certification in 2010. Since then, she has been teaching Pilates in various settings, and while pregnant with her first child, also developed a special interest in teaching pregnancy and post-natal Pilates.
Tracy’s passions for dance and rehabilitation can often be seen through her flowing Pilates classes which adapt to suit her client's needs, while still focussing on posture, alignment and freedom of movement.
